"Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?" — Psalm 85:6
John G Lake

Adventures In God

Adventures in God is a slim collection of firsthand accounts from John G. Lake (1870–1935), the Canadian-born businessman turned missionary whose Healing Rooms in Spokane recorded some 100,000 healings in five years. Lake writes in the plain, headlong voice of a man reporting what he saw rather than arguing a case: how eight family members died before he understood healing as part of the gospel, how he sailed for South Africa with a few dollars in his pocket and a house waiting he hadn’t arranged, how tumors dissolved, cripples walked, and a native preacher’s simple faith exposed the doubt in his own. The book closes with his personal consecration statement, eight principles of surrender that explain the life behind the stories better than the stories do. Whatever a reader makes of the claims, the appeal here is the nearness of God — salvation not as insurance for later, but as the presence and power of Christ now.

The invitation

Every revival begins with one heart saying yes

The fire that fell in Azusa Street, in the Hebrides, in Pensacola never came to fill a building. It came to fill people. Jesus Christ is alive, He is near, and He is calling you by name today.
